Publication Ethics
Journal of Integrative Science Education (JISE) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. The journal adheres to the principles and guidelines set forth by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and expects all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, reviewers, and editors, to follow these ethical standards.
Key aspects of JIBA's publication ethics include:
- Originality and plagiarism: All submitted manuscripts must be the authors' original work and should not have been published elsewhere or be under consideration for publication in another journal. JIBA uses plagiarism detection tools to ensure the originality of the submitted content.
- Authorship: Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the reported study. All authors should agree to be listed and approve the final version of the manuscript.
- Conflicts of interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, such as financial, personal, or professional relationships that could influence the research or the interpretation of the results.
- Data access and retention: Authors may be asked to provide the raw data related to their manuscript for editorial review and should be prepared to make the data publicly available if practicable.
- Peer review: JIBA follows a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of the published research. Reviewers are expected to maintain confidentiality, provide objective and constructive feedback, and disclose any potential conflicts of interest.
- Editorial decisions: The editors of JIBA are responsible for deciding which manuscripts should be published based on the peer review reports and their own judgment. They should maintain the confidentiality of the submitted manuscripts and ensure a fair and unbiased review process.
- Corrections and retractions: In case of errors or misconduct, JIBA will publish corrections, clarifications, or retractions as necessary. The journal will investigate any allegations of misconduct and take appropriate action in accordance with COPE guidelines.
- Ethical oversight: JIBA expects authors to adhere to ethical guidelines for research involving human subjects or animals, and to obtain appropriate institutional review board approval when necessary.
By following these publication ethics guidelines, JISE aims to maintain the integrity of the scientific record, promote responsible research practices, and build trust.
